Alexa, pause everything for this week.
Too much happening around the world and I miss that lockdown pause mode.
There is a solar eclipse and my mom said we will have lunch late today, it is Father’s Day and my dad is too busy to give me a comment for this email, it is Yoga Day, World Music Day, this feels like if there is a family of five everyone’s birthday falls on the same day.
But let me tell you all a short story.
So in 10th standard I needed some money for personal reasons, I could not ask my parents for that, and so I sold my bicycle for Rs 500 to a shop. For weeks I kept telling my parents that it was at my friend’s place but they sensed something is fishy. Eventually I had to tell them the truth and I got one long lecture that I can never forget. Even today when I asked my Dad tell me one memory of mine that you will never forget, he said the bicycle incident. So today I am going with my sister to buy a bicycle so that I settle this debt.
We are always creating nostalgia for the future.
The smallest of incidents can be a big deal for your parents or friends but it might not be for you. But man bicycles are so costly I never knew this, that Rs 500 is going to cost me a kidney today.
