Come for Content, Stay for Community.
This is what Relatively Correct will be from November 2020.
My Dear Friends
First of all massive shoutout to 12 people who have already opted for the paid subscription and you all have surprised me yet again with your support. Here is a big thank you in the form of Shrewsbury Biscuits from Kayani Bakery and Bruce together. The biscuit disappeared after this photo was clicked.
I know it is Tuesday today, but this Sunday it is going to be the last free edition of Relatively Correct. I am sad and excited as well about it, don’t know what this weird feeling is. The last time I had this feeling was when I proposed to Alia Bhatt and she did not reply. I know she will regret that but you don’t regret missing out on being part of a community of intelligent beings. There is a 20% discount on the yearly and monthly subscription till 31st October.
I have been speaking to some of you about what do you think about this evolution of Relatively Correct and while some of you think this is ‘JIO Strategy’, it is just an evolution of the content world.
"If you pay for it, you get quality. Also, if you're willing to pay for Netflix, Spotify, electricity, and clean water, you should also be willing to pay for clean information. It needn't be expensive. Just pick a media organisation or two to support and contribute to them." via Rayaan Writer
‘Clean Information’, and sooner or later this is how the content world will be.
But no, this is not my full-time business plan and no I am not looking to build a palace out of the money that comes from this, it is for you and me to get into a serious commitment and do more.
I strongly believe in this sentiment of paying for content and valuing the creators because this is going to be the rise of independent journalism and start of new age social media.
I am writing the FAQ’s and other offerings of paid subscription again here
What is the cost of it? There is a 20% discount till 31st October and you can get the yearly subscription at Rs 960 and a monthly subscription at Rs 120 per month. which will automatically deduct from your account on the date of your subscription. I was just scrolling the internet today and saw all tall drinks of Starbucks at Rs 190, and this newsletter subscription is at Rs 120 per month. I don’t know if I feel cheap or expensive doing this comparison😎😝😂
Can I unsubscribe after one month? Yes you can renew your subscription after a month or even end the subscription, no questions asked but we’ll miss you.
Can I have a free trial? You will have to go back in time for that, because since a year this was a free newsletter only, you can always read the past letters from this link of Relatively Correct
I earn more than a lakh every month but Rs 120 per month is too expensive for me, are we still friends? No and I am judging you Shubham Shettiwar, Anurag Sirse, Ameya Deshmukh, Rushabh Shingavi, Neetika Rochwani. You all should be my star supporters!
I am a student and I don’t think I can afford this subscription, what can I do? Just write an email to pawan@pfaindia.com and I will try to give 10 members a free subscription for the newsletter which will be on need basis and considering how actively you have been communicating to these emails in the past one year.
Now I know because you all are going to pay money for reading Relatively Correct from November, so here is what we are going to do different from here onwards.
This is not just going to be me sharing articles or movie recommendations, this will be turning into an intellectual, empathetic and a learning discussion group where all of us interact and build an enriching community. Does anyone here doubt about my Community Building skills?
A whatsapp group for all the paid subscribers where we keep interacting over the week and not just on Sundays. You will absolutely love meeting these genius subscribers of Relatively Correct. You can even choose not to be part of the whatsapp group, totally your call but don’t ask for discount on the membership. There is already an early bird offer till 31st October.
The paid subscribers can be part of a live discussion over zoom on last Sunday of the month where we have a dialogue about what all we read throughout the month, what did we watch and some meme sharing exercises of course. I will bring in some guest speakers also to these live discussions, how many of you were present for the Vir Das discussion on 10th October?
The paid subscribers will get a newsletter every Sunday and the free subscribers get the newsletter only on last Sunday of the month.
The newsletters will be long, really long because we will be doing some in depth opinions about the weekly topics and also try to include some opinions from you all in the newsletter.
The newsletter will be sent to you all every Sunday at 9 AM. Also, now that you will be a paid subscriber the email will be received directly in your primary tab.
This is an investment into up-skilling yourself, don’t think 120 rupaye me mujhe kitna milega and kya milega. Join me on this adventure before 31st October so that you get a 20% off forever.
If you have any questions apart from this, please feel free to reply to this email and if you face any difficulties while getting a paid subscription to the newsletter, I am just an email away.
Take care.
Cheers to a new beginning🌻🌻
