Kanye West has inspired me to run for PM.
Yes, I am preparing for 2024 and you all will be my campaign managers.
When I was in college, I contested our college ‘general elections’ in my final year and it was a very thrilling experience. Usually to contest there are certain rules like you need to have GPA above 6/7 and you need to have some certificates from college.
How elections are run based on the caste system in India, in the college it was run on ‘region system’. The Vidarbh, Marathwada, Southern etc are some of the primary regions from Maharashtra which usually won the elections. Now all this seemed too discriminatory to me, and we already suffer from a poor system of elections in the country why should we do that in the college as well? So I suggested let’s do it on merit basis and let people vote whoever they want to vote irrespective of where you are born in Maharashtra.
The idea wasn’t well received because when the system is fair, you cannot move the pieces the way you want them to move.
Now my activist instincts get pretty excited when I experience such things, so I decided to contest.
I literally had to make some fake documents in order to even get nominated, my friends were really pissed at me because of that. But I knew I wasn’t going to win even if some miracle happens, it wasn’t about winning, it was more about putting out a message.
And I think that is what Kanye is doing by announcing his run.
